Orchids

Orchids really are incredible. Though I don't quite understand it, I can begin to see why some people obsess over them. That last foto is wonderful!

Thanks so much for your regular visits over at my place. I appreciate your great comments!

I started to test a new Nikon 70-300 mm AF (auto focus) VR (vibration reduction) Nikkor lens to see what results I could get with hand held takes. It's impressive, all these photos would be blurred had they been taken without VR ...

Yeah, not bad! It would be great to see them in super-hi-res; too bad F'pages doesn't do that....

Tax Man: We started a small business this year, forming an LLC and purchasing a second home as a rental / income property. We were allowed to not only file jointly, as usual, but to include the small business filing with our personal filing. Because we spent a huge load on the purchase and on upgrades and repairs, we had a huge load of write-offs. We used that to pay bills that have accumulated while the house is unrented. There ~ now you know MY story!

Rediscovering...

View all 6 photos...
I have been taking digital photos for a long time and with many different cameras. However, being used to film SLR cameras, I always felt that these were much more versatile, easy to use and trustworthy. Today I started to use a digital D40 SLR that my son Thomas just gave me. Wow! Not only could I use most of my Nikon FE and F601 film SLR lenses but the feeling, accuracy and versatility where all back. In a certain way it was like rediscovering the joys of photography...

I love my canon digital SLR . I still want to start using my film camera more, but haven't gotten around to it yet Mon 19-Mar-2007 12:56

Excellent expression of your experience. Congrats! I still have much to learn about my Olympus E-500, but it does give me that old familiar feeling when compared to digital point-n-shooters. Cheers! Wed 21-Mar-2007 16:17
